My Approach to Perinatal and Postpartum Therapy

The perinatal and postpartum periods are times of profound change that can bring both joy and significant emotional challenges, including anxiety, depression, trauma, and grief. Understanding the complexities and potential risks during this time, I provide trauma-informed, evidence-based care designed to meet your unique needs.

With specialized training in perinatal mental health, I use an attachment-focused approach that explores how early relationships and life experiences impact your emotional health and parenting journey. Using therapies such as EMDR and parts work, we gently access and process difficult memories and emotions, helping to resolve trauma that may be affecting your wellbeing.

Parts work allows us to identify and compassionately engage with different aspects of ourselves, especially those coping with grief, loss, or anxiety, while EMDR helps reprocess distressing experiences at the neurological level. Together, these tools support healing and create a foundation of safety and emotional regulation.
